Chronology of cameras Chinon
The Chinon 35 F-II is a very simple camera with no adjustments except for film sensitivity. The camera only accepts 100/200 or 400/1000 ISO. Note the latitude of the second setting. The sensitivity choice determines the aperture since the shutter speed is fixed. The aperture can be 3.8, 8, or 16. The use of flash (detachable and engageable via the orange button on the base) also affects the choice of speed. A red diode lights up next to the viewfinder when flash is needed.
In 1970, Chinon was still only a subcontractor for other camera brands. It was only around 1972 that the first cameras were marketed under the Chinon brand. At that time, it was easy to follow a naming logic for the first models:
EE = Electronic Eye
F = Flash
A = Autofocus
M = Motor

With the 35 FX III, Chinon reached the limits of its naming logic. Despite being called 34, this model no longer has anything in common with its predecessors.
